Message from the President: Fellow trappers, I hope you had a safe and prosperous trapping season! As many of you know, there are two trapping organizations in Connecticut now. Since the creation of the CFHA, there have been numerous unfounded allegations and some unresolved matters with the other state organization that have generated unnecessary concerns within our trapping community. It appears that some within the state trapping community do not appreciate our mission of the promotion of ethical trapping practices and sound wildlife management through education, strict adherence to trapping laws and collaboration with others who share these ideals. We standby, un wavered by these attacks, ready to educate trappers as well as the non-trapping public about the key role that trapping plays in conservation. We are also excited to continue mentoring both new and veteran trappers, helping to make them successful, ethical sportsmen that can in turn pass on the tradition to others. The CFHA Board of Directors (BOD) is working diligently to resolve all outstanding issues immediately. The CFHA BOD has always and will continue to always welcome a collaborative and responsible partnership with our fellow state organization as well as state and national organizations throughout North America Hope to see you all at the Round Up. May your plews be prime and your boots stay dry. - Herb |
