HB-6014 AN ACT PROHIBITING THE USE OF LEGHOLD AND BODY-CRUSHING TRAPS. The Environment Committee held a public hearing on March 1st at the Legislative Office Building to allow testimony on 16 proposed Bills. HB-6014 was the last Bill on the list and wasn't called for testimony until midnight. There was a great turnout from trappers from all organizations ( Connecticut Fur Harvesters Association, Nutmeg Council of Connecticut Sportsmen, Connecticut Chapter of Delta Waterfowl, Connecticut Trappers Association, Connecticut Farm Bureau and the Connecticut Nuisance Wildlife Control Operators Association ) We wish to thank everyone who submitted written testimony and/or gave verbal testimony of opposition. The Bill is still in the Environment Committee and has not been called for vote as of yet.
